How To: Verify the calculation of worker SOCSO & EIS contributions in Quarto

Summary

The concept of Social Security Protection (or commonly known as SOCSO) is based on the concept of joint responsibility through the pooling of resources, sharing of risk, and replacement of income. There are a few reports in Quarto that can assist users to verify the calculation and amount of SOCSO & EIS contributed by employers and employees. The following steps describe how to verify worker SOCSO and EIS contributions in Quarto.  

Procedure

  1. In the the Quarto Menu Bar, navigate to Report > Report Menu Checkroll > Checkroll Statutory > Worker Statutory Contribution Check List.
  1. In the 'filter' pane on the right, use the drop-down lists to set the filtering criteria and click the Generate Report button to view the report.

  1. From the Report Menu, go to Checkroll > Checkroll Statutory > Employee Statutory Contribution Schedule.
  2. Select SOCSO/PERKESO from the Contribution Type drop-down list, select the required options in the Serial Number/Year and Category drop-down lists, and click the Generate Report button to view the SOCSO schedule.

According to the example in the Worker Statutory Contribution Check List report, the worker's salary subjected to SOCSO is RM2,600. Users can infer from the SOCSO schedule that the employee's contribution is RM13.25 while the employer's contribution is RM46.35. 

  1. Select EIS/SIP from the Contribution Type drop-down list and set the required options in the Serial Number/Year and Category drop-down lists. Click the Generate Report button to view the EIS schedule. 

According to the example in the Worker Statutory Contribution Check List report, with a monthly pay of RM2,600, users can infer from the following EIS schedule that the employee and employer contribution is RM5.10 each.
